Stream Classifieds Directly To Your Computer

Flannery Publications publishes the Wheels & Deals Free Classifieds and distributes them both in print and on the website. Now you can also get the classifieds streamed right to your desktop using RSS feeds! You will never have to use a web browser to view classifieds again!

RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication, is a sort of format websites can use to share or distribute information. News tickers found on websites may read RSS feeds from other news websites to display news to readers. To use the Wheels & Deals RSS feeds, you will need an RSS reader.

Below is a quick introduction to using the Wheels & Deals feeds with SharpReader:

	Run SharpReader and go to the File menu. Click "Open RSS Feed." A window will appear called "Open." Other RSS reading programs may have a similar approach for subscribing to RSS feeds.
	Type the address to the RSS feed you would like to view. For the Twin Harbors Wheels & Deals, type http://www.flannerypubs.com/feeds/classifieds3.rss For the I-5 Wheels & Deals, type http://www.flannerypubs.com/feeds/classifieds4.rss The SharpReader program has a check box called "Subscribe to feed" on the "Open" box. If you select the check box before hitting "OK," SharpReader will add the Wheels & Deals classifieds to the list of subscribed RSS feeds on the left side of the main window. The next time you return to SharpReader, the Wheels & Deals listing will still be in the list, and you will not have to subscribe to it again.
	When you press "OK," SharpReader will connect to Flannery Publications and download the RSS feed. The classifieds will show up in the RSS feed window. Each classified has a title, the date the classified was downloaded, the contact phone number for the classified, and the classification or category name of the classified.
	Now that the classifieds have downloaded, you may scroll through the list to find exactly what you're looking for. SharpReader, as well as other RSS readers, has filtering tools to help sort through hundreds or thousands of records. When you click on a classified, the full contents of the classified will be displayed.
